This is a 12-minute news feature on the affordable housing regulations in Brookline, MA. I investigate the Local Preference stipulation of affordable housing - a requirement that a certain percentage of affordable housing occupants be from Brookline - and how it results in less diversity amongst affordable housing occupants. As a result of this piece, the town of Brookline reduced their Local Preference percentage from 70% to 25% for the first time in decades.
