In September 2024, I traveled with my partner Joe Belgrad to Thabazimbi, a town three hours north of Johannesburg. We stayed with wildlife veterinarian Gary Bauer and his wife Anni as part of Joe’s veterinary training. I had the unique opportunity to observe animal treatments up close at several game farms where wildlife is farmed for breeding, hunting, or environmental tourism. All photos were taken at game farms, Marakele National Park, and on Gary’s property using a Nikon Z5 with a Nikon 24 - 70 mm f/4 and Nikon 50 mm f/1.8 lens.
